What you get

Every system has three parts

The check sizes each one for you. These are the ranges Aerocom Solar installs.

  1. Solar panels

Turn daylight into power on your roof. How many you need depends on your use and how much sun your area gets.

Sized in kWp, confirmed on the roof by a technician

  2. Hybrid inverter

The brain of the system. It runs the house from the panels, the battery and the grid, and switches over when the power goes.

Kodak hybrid 1.5 to 10 kW, Sunsynk 5 to 16 kW

  3. Lithium battery

Stores the day's sun for the evening and carries what matters through load-shedding.

Freedom Won Lite Home, Hubble and Sunsynk

Where most homes start

Typical starting points for a Gauteng home that keeps the fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and TV on for four hours. Your own check gives your own numbers. None of these is a quote.

How it works

From your answers to a technician on the roof

  1. Tell us how you use power

Your bill, what must keep running and when you use it most. It takes about a minute.

  2. See your system

Panels, inverter and battery sized for you, with every assumption shown. Try a smaller or bigger size.

  3. A technician checks the roof

Aerocom Solar looks at the roof, shading, wiring and your power needs with you, before any quote.

  4. Installed and looked after

We install, commission and service the system, and can add batteries or panels later.

Questions

Good to know

A family relaxing together on the couch at home
How does the check choose my system?

It works out your monthly use from your bill (or the kWh you enter), then sizes the panels to cover a share of it with the sunshine for your area, the inverter to run what you ticked at the same time, and the battery to carry it for the hours you chose. Open “How we worked this out” under your result to see every number.

Is the recommendation a quote?

No. It is an indicative starting point. A technician confirms the system once they have seen the roof, shading, the distribution board and how you use power, and only then is anything priced.

Where does the sunshine figure come from?

From PVGIS, the European Commission's free solar database, for a north-facing roof at 26°. With an address we can place on a map we use your location; otherwise we use your province.

Can a battery run my geyser or pool pump?

It can, but heavy loads need a bigger inverter and battery. Tick them in the check to see the difference, or choose the smaller size, which keeps the essentials running and leaves the heavy loads off during an outage.

Can I add panels or batteries later?

Yes. Tell us about plans such as an electric car or a pool and we size for them now. Our maintenance and upgrades service also adds batteries and panels to existing systems.

Do you work with businesses?

Yes. Choose Business in the check. We install commercial and industrial rooftop systems, planned around when and how the business uses power.
